Hello everyone! MTV will be broadcasting their annual Video Music Awards on September 7, 2008 at 9pm. This will also be the hour in which it will premier on Much Music.

The nominees include: Britney Spears leading the pack with two nominations for her single, "Piece Of Me," in the category of Best Pop Video. Following her are, young Disney band, the Jonas Brothers, who will also be performing at the ceremony. They share their space with rockers, Panic At The Disco.

In the rap/hip hop category, rapper Kanye West is going head to head with artist, Mary J. Blige, Flo Rida, and  Lil' Wayne. To add to this list, Lil' Wayne will also be providing some entertainment. You can read this article here, and even contribute some voting yourself on MTV's own website,here.

Hello! Weezer have announced a grand tour with Angels and Airwaves this coming fall. You may have seen them hinting at it in their new music video, "Pork And Beans." This slew of shows to come is for their new release, Red Album, along with Angels and Airwaves, Weezer will also tour with Tokyo Police Club.Their tour kicks off Septemer 23,2008 in Boston, Massachusettes, and ends October 25, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia.I hope you did not think that tour season was over, not as long as school is out and the weather is warm, I hope that summer job is paying off.

 You probably have been hearing about Weezer's possible tour all spring and summer, well here ya go! The rumors are true, and this sounds really awesome to attend. Canadian band, Simple Plan are spreading their punk rock wings with a new album, Still Not Getting Any. Carnapple.com reviews this album and giving it nothing short of awesome kudos! This is their follow up from their previous record,No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls debuting on Lava Records. I saw them live at a local Fourth Of July celebration here in Orlando, and I have to admit it was pretty good.

Honorable mentions include three million records sold, very successful tours compared to huge acts Green Day, Blink 182, Sum 41, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte and the ever popular Warped Tour. MTV Video Music Awards four times nominated, MuchMusic People's Choice Award winners, television appearances on Conan O'Brien, Craig Kilborn, Jimmy Kimmel and last, Pepsi Smash. Oh WOW! All that for a band from Montreal, Canada who some of us thought was so small? They have huge accomplishments nonetheless.

But don't think success has jaded these guys, even if it might seem that SP has changed,they still keep what makes them Simple Plan. Die hard fans will still enjoy raucous, punk-influenced pop that made you a dedicated fan to start with. Some of the singles include, “Shut Up!” and "Jump." Great news!! I know you've all been long awaiting Billie Joe's side band, Pinhead Gunpowder's album release. Well, now you can order your copy on Interpunk.com, a punk music based web site. The release date will be August 19th, 2008 with two different color vinyls, pretty awesome huh? I know you guys have been waiting for this to happen since we've been telling you over and over. This time, it is seriously for real!

This band is composed of, Billie Joe Armstrong on vocals and guitar (Lead singer of Punk Rock band Green Day), Jason White on guitar and vocals (Back up Guitarist for Green Day), Bill Schinder on bass,and finally Aaron Comtebus on drums. If you order from Interpunk's web site, you can get your hands on a seven inch copy for just five bucks. That's definately not a bad deal at all, compared to the usual pricey albums in record stores. Like we announced before, only 500 copies will be allowed to be sold. SO please get it while it is hot and available. Have fun and enjoy some awesome music!

These hot tours aren't over yet, even if the Summer season slowly is. Canadian music channel, Much Music is looking for concert reviewers. Do you absolutley live for the next time you'll see a new band live? Does the Hard Rock Cafe know your name due to the fact that you call every other week trying to score My Chemical Romance ticktets? OMG! You have House Of Blues on speed dial?! If following bands on tour is equivolent to the air you breathe, then you could be Much's next concert reviewer!
