bono2.png Hello guys, how's it going so far? Hope you all had a great weekend, and now on to some music news for the day.

Good news for all you U2 fans!

The band has announced a global tour in support of their new album, "No Line On The Horizon". Lead singer, Bono has recently shared with Rolling Stone Magazine his thoughts on it, "an engineering feat that creates this physical proximity to the crowd." I think it's pretty cool they want to be up close and personal with the fans!

If you head on over to their tour page, you can see for yourself the virtual blueprints for how the entire set will look. The guys have named their tour, The 360-Degree Tour! Focusing on this name, a 360 degree television will be hovering over the stage to give everyone a great view from every angle. Awesome!

As always, there's good news and bad news. First the bad news, U2 will not make their way to the states until the 12th of September where they'll be in Chicago playing at Soldier's Field. They'll start touring starting June 30th, 2009 in Barcelona, Spain. After that, they'll jet off to the rest of Europe, and then North America.

The good news, however is ticket prices will be low. Paul McGuinness, the band's manager speaks positively about it, "U2 has always been at their best when surrounded by the audience, this staging takes a leap forward. With 85 percent of the tickets priced at less than 95 Euro, general admission tickets priced at 55 euro and at least 10,000 tickets at every venue priced at the 30 Euro price range, we have worked very hard to ensure U2 fans purchase a great priced ticket with a guaranteed great view." That's amazing, always thinking of fans first!

Along with all the great news, U2 will tour with tip top talent. Some acts you can expect to see opening are, Black Eyed Peas, Glasvegas, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Mercury Prize winning Elbow. Additional acts will be added throughout the tour.

Have a great week Nimrods!
