musenewalbum2010Bass player for Muse, Chris Wolstenholme, has confirmed that the band will start work on their sixth studio album next year according to NME.com. He admitted that they will take some much needed time off after this tour, which will end in Perth, Australia on December 19th.

"we'll definitely start working on a new album next year." He explained that a break would be necessary however, saying "it's something we've never done. I think the most time we've had off is about six weeks in the last 12 years, so we're due a break."

Wolstenholme sat down for an interview at their T In The Park gig "that saw the group further cement their position as one of the biggest bands in the world. With America it was something we never really expected to happen. So I think it was one of those things we really appreciated, hopefully it'll carry on."

Muse will conclude "the year with a three month stint that takes in both the USA and Australia."

Current upcoming shows for these Musers include:

  • Fuji Rock in Japan on July 30,
  • Sziget in Hungary on August 15th
  • Two dates at Wembley Stadium on September 10-11

Below is the NME interview with Chris spilling the beans about the new album!

We Are The Fallen Announces Tour

watf2010 We Are The Fallen have kicked off their North American and European tour dates for this summer. Having started in Dallas, Texas back on April 29th, the tour will conclude in Nottinghamshire on June 12th. They'll be touring in support of their debut album "Tear The World Down" to be released on May 11th.

On select dates, they'll be performing alongside rockers HIM at the House of Blues and the Filmore at Irving Plaza.

If the band looks familiar to you, that's because the band is composed of former Evanescence members who took part of their name from the first ever Evanescence record "Fallen". Guitarist, Ben Moody says he's had enough of the comparisons and wishes everyone would let it be.

"Yeah, I wish people would just get over it, 'cause it's just music'. Both bands can coexist. We wish them the best. They probably feel nothing towards us. But I don't expect to have the right to tell people, 'Get over it,' because it's been, what, a year since we made the announcement. In the end, what are they going to do? Take away my birthday? What can they say about me that they haven't already said? I've been hated since the day I left that band. I literally have heard it all. This means so much to us that we're going to do it -- or tear the world down in the process."

muse20100Straight out of the Coachella gigs last weekend, super Brit band Muse is at it again planning a fall tour for North America and Canada. The trio will take their "Resistance" tour to 14 different cities starting on September 22nd in San Diego and ending it November 6th in Cincinnati.

Muse is still supporting their mega-selling release "The Resistance", which includes a three part symphonic tune. Something lead singer, Matt Bellamy told the UK Times Online in 2009. "A lot of Muse songs, in my mind, were probably far more elaborate and more orchestrated in the way that I heard them. I often imagine them played by a symphony orchestra, or sung by a large choir, or in an operatic setting. If you have that sort of active imagination, you're going to be drawn towards classical music."

Pre-sale tickets went on sale today and sales to the general public will begin on April 24th. More dates will be announced soon, check out the band's website for more information.

In other Muse news, rock out to the band's entire cataloge on vinyl available now on their webstore, get them individually for 17.99 or all together for 75.00 pounds! Sounds like a fantastic deal!

getup2010Indie rockers, The Get Up Kids have confirmed two dates in London and Birmingham this coming June. On the 24th the group will play in London's Cameden Underworld and the O2 Academy in Birmingham the following day.

For those of you not familiar with the band, here's a recap for the n00bs! Forming in 1995 they were part of the "second-wave of emo music" in the mid-90's. They played the opening slots for well known's such as Green Day and Weezer before becoming headliners. After touring internationally in Japan and Europe, they eventually went to record four albums.

Only just recently reunited last year after a break up in 2005, The Get Up Kids have influenced Blink-182's, Mark Hoppus and it's apparent in their album "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" from 2001. Another rocker  influenced by TGUK is Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. "There should be a How To Be a Pop-Punk Kid starter kit with bands like Get Up Kids, so kids would know whose shoulders bands like us are standing on. Fall Out Boy would not be a band if it were not for The Get Up Kids.”

The Get Up Kid's announced earlier in the year that they would self-release a new four song EP called, "Simple Science". It would be the quintent's first release in a whopping six years and is expected sometime in April.
