Hello everyone in Nimrod world! Got some cool news for you this weekend!

Tweet-A-Prize holds a drawing on Twitter every week and is offering some groovy prizes. This week they have partnered up with State Farm who is not only sponsoring the summer Blink-182 tour, but they're giving fans an opportunity to win a $150 dollar Ticketmaster gift card towards the show of their choice.

This particular drawing  will involve a combination of easy steps and clues!

Step #1: ReTweet this post by hitting the green Retweet button on their site.
Step #2:
Watch for the CLUES!  They’ll start with “Clue #25-4-” and end with
“#TPclue”.  Don’t tweet the answer to the clues!  Save the answers for the next step.
Step #3:
Answer the prize question on Sunday!  It’ll end with “#TPprize” and
require the clue answers to answer correctly.  That’s it!  ReTweet this
post and get the answer right, and you’ll be entered in to the drawing to WIN!

Also, the post will have comment discussions underneath it. In the next two weeks they'll be having drawings for one lucky person who will win a $50 iTunes gift card. We're finally back from our unexpected server issues with our web-host and have finally gotten a chance to bring you some exciting news!.

Jet will be releasing their new album, "Shaka Rock" on August 25th in the US with a UK release on September 7th, 2009 and will also be available for download and on 12" LP's! You can find a list of official release dates on their website here. Can't wait for their release? Starting August 24th you will be able to download their new single "She's A Genius" and own it on a limited edition 7" LP.

In order to commemorate the special occasion, Jet will be hosting a special contest for UK fans. What do you need to do to win? Just watch the video for "Shes' A Genius"  and keep your eyes open because you'll then be asked to answer how many times the wolf character appears. 

Entering is a piece of cake! Just send an e-mail to JETcontestUK [at] Gmail [dot] com with
the correct answer. Don't forget to include your name and a specific
number where you can be reached. Remember though, this contest is only open to fans in
the United Kingdom.

Now I know you're just dying to know what the rewards are right? The grand prizes includes you meeting the band, receiving an autographed copy of the record and attending a tour date of your choice!

Everyone's favorite convenient store is ready to rock! 7-Eleven's Slurpee Nation presents Battle Of The Bands 2009, 28 bands in 30 days!

Only one band will walk away with the crown and the grand prize of $10,000 dollars, but don't think they left the runner-ups in the dark. The top 28 receive a $500 gift card to 7-Eleven and the top four will get $1,000 dollars and a custom Slurpee shaped guitar, sounds awesome!

Entering is easy, just follow these four steps! First sign in to upload a video of your band playing their best song, then Slurpee Nation will pick the top 28 bands. Music fans everywhere will then get a chance to select the rest. Finally they'll be able to come back September 1st to cast their final vote.

To get informed about the rules and regulations, click here. Contest is open to individuals residing in the United States, and are at least 13 years old. This rock and roll throwdown begins August 1st, 2009 at midnight and ends September 30th, 2009 at 11:59 pm!

Hello! Hope your weekend went great, ours surely did. For those of you who are of age, are you guys ready and revved up for the upcoming elections? If you are, Much Music wants to hear from you! It's super easy, just tell them about your hopes,thoughts, concerns and if you want, perhaps even vent your heart out! 

If you have a webcam, and would like to be on the Much Music channel, email these folks at muchnews [at] muchmusic [dot] com tell them about the issue, and subject you would like to be addressed. I would like to see someone bring up the important issue  about raising minimum wage and lowering gas prices for sure! 

This music loving channel will be in touch with you guys if  they are interested in what you have to say.
