moonman.pngHello homeslices, how are you doing today?

It's that time again! The MTV Video Music Awards 2009 will air Sunday, September 13th at 9pm eastern. The event will be broadcast to 1.2 million people in 577 households on MTV's 68 network channels. Its programming and content will also reach interactive communities through 200 digital media global properties.

Pop starlet, Pink, is back for her triumphant return to the stage and will be performing a song off her latest record, "Funhouse". This star is definitely exited for her appearance. "last year I got to jump out of a window at the VMA's in LA. This year I can't wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York."

Guess who else is joining the party? Our guys from Green Day are also ready to break down the walls from Radio City by performing a hit off their latest album, "21st Century Breakdown." The group's singer and guitarist, Billie Joe Armstrong, is especially thrilled, "we are excited to be performing at the Video Music Awards. You never know what's going to happen, and it's always a memorable experience for us."

If you want more from these guys, remember that Rock Band features three songs from "Breakdown" for their fans to download, "Know Your Enemy", "East Jesus Nowhere" and "21 Guns". All part of their collaboration with MTV Games, Harmonix and Warner Music Group.

The music doesn't stop there, young country music singer Taylor Swift and rockers Muse will also serenade the audience that night. Other additional musicians will be announced at a later date.

The VMA's will be hosted by English comedian and columnist, Russel Brand! Some of the presenters will include Katy Perry, Chace Crawford from CW's "Gossip Girl", and Ne-Yo. Other presenters and award nominees will be announced in the time leading up to the show.

To get the inside scoop on additional presenters, performers and other announcements, be sure to follow "insideMTV" on Twitter! It will feature exclusive photos and videos before and during the event!

Sounds pretty awesome to me! I cannot wait to see what the evening has in store for everyone!

Kelly Clarkson will have another single out called, "I Do Not Hook Up" written by Katy Perry. You can check out the new single cover by clicking here. This is the second track off her album, "All I Ever Wanted".

Speaking of that, Clarkson's fourth album is dominating the charts! For the second week in a row she's at number one on the Billboard 200. According to Hitfix.com, her two week tally is 345,000 even when it has dropped 65% in sales. Her next single is due out on the radio April 13, 2009.

Her last single, "My Life Would Suck Without You", already sold 1.4 million in the US alone. It topped the Billboard 100 for two weeks in a row. Earlier this month it went from # 97 in the Hot 100 chart, all the way to number one! That makes it the biggest leap in the chart's 50-year history! Go Kelly!!!
