blink010Blink-182's long awaited follow up to 2003's "self-titled" album will be released in 2011, and while fans may be growing impatient, Mark Hoppus tells MTV it'll be worth the wait!

"We did a bunch of writing before we left on this tour, then we came home and decided we were going to take a couple of months and chill and do other stuff, then get back together in the beginning of the year. And now that it's almost February, we decided it's time to get back in the studio and do what we do. So that's the plan: just get back together and get to work."

Tom Delonge has already described their newest creation as "the work of our life" and "ambitious", but Mark speaks his mind on the matter himself.

"We definitely want to try a bunch of different stuff. I think it will still sound like Blink. I think it will still be catchy. I think it will still be poppy, but we want to be weird on this record. There's your pull quote: Mark Hoppus says 'We want to be weird on this record.' "

So where exactly does all this "weirdness" come from? Turns out, it's everything put together into one awesome project!

"Everybody listens to such different stuff. Tom is really into, like, '80s stadium rock; huge, monumental '80s rock bands. Travis is all over the place, musically, and he always comes up with beats and drum parts that are so way out that I would never think of them. And I've just been listening to a lot of weird indie rock. So somewhere between amazing hip-hop beats, stadium rock and indie rock, you'll find Blink."

While the guys may be trying hard to put their record out this year considering Tom is working with Angels and Airwaves and Travis Barker is releasing his solo album, Hoppus insists it's better for Blink when every member of the band has their own thing going.

"I think that everything that everyone works on outside of Blink comes back to Blink. And being involved in all these different projects allows us to go off and try different ideas and bring those ideas back home to what we do every day. And I think it's a really positive thing. I know it's confusing for people, because everyone's like, 'Tom's doing this, and Travis is doing this, and Mark's producing ... why aren't you guys focusing on Blink?' But I think what people need to understand is that, that's how we focus on Blink. We go off, and we bring all these different pieces and ideas back, and we get inspired by other artists and get inspired by working with different people, and then when we come back to Blink, it just helps us."

Before we go, here's Mark clearing any confusion up!

Mark Hoppus 09Hey all you bands out there, here's your chance to spend a day in the studio with Mark Hoppus! The Blink-182 bassist will put his creative juices to work and produce a track exclusively for you or your band at the California based recording studio, Opera Music, which Hoppus co-owns with band-mate Travis Barker.

"When we bought it, one room was built out, and the second room was being framed. We rewired the building, installed the board, patch bay , and outboard gear, and finished construction on Studio B. It took a few months, but has been used nearly everyday since."

Mark's recent producing projects have spanned the creative minds of Eminem, Lil' Wayne, Motion City Soundtrack, New Found Glory, and his own Plus 44 and Blink-182.

Hoppus accidentally stumbled upon producing when his post Blink band, Plus 44 began touring with with MCS. "We took a band called Motion City Soundtrack on tour with us a few years ago. On the tour, I talked with them at great length about music and recording. They were getting ready to go into the studio to start their next record, and at the end of the tour, they asked if I would produce it. I immediately said yes, never having produced anything, and not having heard a single demo of their new music."

Owning his own personal studio has proven convenient since there are two studios within Opera Music, which means no one argues over needed space or time. "The two-studio configuration works great. Having our own studio allows Travis and me to work at our pace, on whatever we choose." This Blinker has also sharpened his producing skills and experience as well. "I think the most important lesson I've learned in the studio is to be open to all ideas, and always trust your guy. I want to continue working with bands that I like and help them define their sound and focus their ideas. It is an honor to be asked to be part of a band's creating process. Watching a song evolve from an idea to a full song is a beautiful experience."

This is not a contest, to win this awesome opportunity you must place a bid on charitybuzz.com and be the highest bidder. By jumping on this opportunity you'll be helping out in a big way since proceeds will benefit The Chi Ling Cheng Special Needs Trust. Accommodations including airfare and transportation are not included with the package. Act fast though because the winning bidder must redeem by March 2010 based on agreements between the winner and Mark himself.

rsweezer.pngHello everyone, what's shakin'?

Weezer has announced that October 27th is the official release date for their seventh studio album. The still untitled record is set to hit stores just 15 months after their third LP, "The Red Album". The album's release date is shared with a particularly special event for us Nimrods since, as some of you may know Nimrod Street celebrates its second birthday the same day!

Whether or not the release is a birthday present to us, the band promises to spill the beans about title and tracklist sooner than you think! They recently performed three songs on July 27th at the Jisan Valley Rock Festival, "The Girl Got Hot", "I'm Your Daddy", and "Can't Stop Partying". The rockers posted on their website that they were in the last stages of mixing for the disc last week.

You'll probably hear some of their new stuff when they go on tour with Blink 182 beginning August 25 at the Molson Amphitheater in Toronto, Canada.

Along with all this, it is rumoured that Weezer plans on reissuing a deluxe version of their "Pinkerton" album. There are however no confirmed plans or a set date as of yet. You can read about the awesome news here!

Want more Weezer? Singer, Rivers Cuomo will take part in the Athletes For Africa Soccer Tournament in Toronto August 22nd. He'll be joined on the "Mystery Team" by Ted Leo and a few members from "Great Big Sea". Brendan Canning from "Broken Social Scene" will face off against Cuomo on the opposing side.

Find out more details about this and how you could win passes to an post-game concert from Modest Mouse at the Athletes For Africa website. You can also check out the video below to see the Weezer frontman in action!

blink1822.pngHowdy there peeps, how are you doing?

Tour-a-la Blink 182 will officially begin starting July 23nd in Las Vegas. According to clashmusic, Hoppus told Rolling Stone that not only is he super excited, but is ready to show fans they still got it!

"We can't wait, it's a strange feeling to have, after not touring with Blink for the past five years, to think that in just a few days, we'll be hitting the road and playing all of these sold-out shows."

"All of our techs have been down there to see the strange set up, and they're e-mailing me, going, 'Oh my God, there are so many speakers, just so many lights.' I haven't seen it myself, but the pictures I've seen look ridiculous. Everything kind of moves and joins and separates to make these huge video screens, so its pretty complicated."

He also admitted that many concertgoers who haven't ever seen Blink perform, will see them in a whole new light, "really, it's kind of a reintroduction to the band. We're going to be playing all of the singles, and all of our favorite songs from our past records."

Speaking of getting back together, Blink's reunion is making its way onto a new documentary. Vegas Weekly got first dibbs on some juicy details from Mark himself.

"We've been filming it for a couple of months now. Throughout the rehearsal, and getting ready for tour, and on tour, and when we get back home and get in the studio. It's cool because the people who are putting the movie together are really good friends of ours and they're really talented."

These guys are known for their carefree style and outrageous sense of humor, something Hoppus and the gang haven't lost yet, "we're all in our 30's now, so you would expect that we'd have grown up, but that's not really the case. I'm kind of ashamed/delighted to know that I'm 37 and still laughing at stuff that I did when I was in high school."

Close friends working by your side can have its advantages, especially when you need time away from the cameras, "when we ask them, 'Yo, dude. I don't feel like having a camera in my face right now,' they're pretty respectful. And they're really, really talented, so you couldn't ask for much more."

This is not the first time the trio will have their lives captured on camera. Ten years ago they released a DVD called, "The Urethra Chronicles", giving everyone a backstage pass into the world of being a punk rock band!  Then in 2002 they made the sequel, "The Urethra Chronicles II: Harder, Faster. Faster, Harder."

There's more where that came from because on October 9th a week after concluding their tour, Hoppus and guitarist, Tom Delonge, will join other musicians in a documentary film, "One Nine Nine Four". It's a flick about the explosion of punk rock in the 90's. Directed by filmmaker Jai Al-Attas and narrated by skater extraordinaire, Tony Hawk.

Along with this, there's more from our beloved bass player. He did a Q and A with Las Vegas Sun where they discuss new Blink merchandise, what drove them back together, and a new album in the works!

It's all very awesome in the world of Blink right now, looking forward to what they have to offer us this time around!

patd.png Hello there Nimrods, how are you doing today?

The past couple of days have been rough for Panic at the Disco fans, but the group want all of you to know they are "alive and very, very well" despite guitarist, Ryan Ross and bass player, Jon Walker leaving the band to tackle other musical interests.

Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith who remain in the group have both said in a joint statement that it's all been "an amazing journey", however they have reached the point where they've grown apart.

These rockers have said, "sometimes individual tastes take friends in different directions and you can't ignore it." There's no remorse within their circle, and will stand by Ross and Walker in their future endeavors, "they are some of the most talented guys we know, and we're sure that whatever they do next will be great."

The upside is, Urie and Smith also spilled the beans about writing new material ahead of the upcoming tour with No Doubt and Blink-182. This "tragedy" is only fueling the leftover bandmembers' creativity to make some more kick ass music! These two show no sign of stopping the party anytime soon!

"We know everybody has a lot of questions at this point with everything being so out of the blue, most of these should be answers in the coming weeks. We appreciate every one of you, and hope you continue with us on this incredible ride."

We're deeply sorry for the loss and wish the guys the very best!

blink.png Hey there everyone, what's going on? Hope you're all doing super dooper!

We've got some nifty updates on the always rockin' Blink 182 clan including news on their upcoming album, how to score free tickets, and that mysterious green screen video that was top secret.

Gibson.com listed Blink as one of the top five releases they can't wait for, it also goes into a brief list about the events over the past year. After you're all caught up, you'll see minor details about their sixth studio record.

Guitarist, Tom Delonge, has described the new Blink tune as a mix of Boxcar Racer, Angels & Airwaves, but still keeping that lovable Blink 182 sound.

There are no official release dates as of yet, however 2010 seems like a reasonable bet! We'll hopefully be able to see the first new awesome tracks since the band dropped their self-titled disc in 2003!!

You all want some tour info? USAToday.com has posted an article on how you can snag some free tickets to the group's reunion tour this summer. It does come with a price, and we're not talking about how much they are on Ticketmaster.com either.

Even though any trace of free passes have been snagged by Virgin Mobile's FreeFest, the party doesn't just stop there. Promoters for the August 30th music festival in Merriweather Post Pavillion, have gathered 3,000  tickets for fans of the band willing to help out with volunteer work for homeless youth.

So here are three options for you to score guaranteed entrance to the hottest event of the summer!

  • Extending your generous hand at thirteen hours of service at certain organizations will give you awesome VIP passes.
  • For eight hours of volunteering, you'll be up close with super cool general admission.
  • If you already have your tickets, all it takes is donating five bucks to seal the deal.

Ron Faris from Virgin Mobile USA assures you that you're doing a world of good by helping out, "social giving is at an all-time low. There are 2 million young people out there ages 12 to 24 who are homeless. So we're willing to eat the cost of a $100 ticket, if people can just donate $5 to help homeless youth organizations that have been decimated by this economy."

One of the rare festivals can be attended absolutely free, and will be headlined by Weezer, Blink 182, Franz Ferdinand, and Public Enemy. Of course anything that's free is freaking awesome right?

"Free gets more publicity for Virgin and the bands. From the band's perspective, Merriweather is a great place to play, the fans are appreciative of the free tickets, and that goodwill will transfer to the bands' performances. And the charity component should be commended. Virgin didn't have to add that."

But can we look forward to more free shows anytime soon? Bongiovanni says you better jump on this deal quick, "this kind of gesture isn't going to be replicated anytime soon. After all, not many people can write a check that big except for Sir Richard Branson."

In other Blink related news, remember back in April we told you about how bassist, Mark Hoppus discussed this mysterious green screen music video they were shooting? If you've been following him on Twitter, you'll see he finally let the cat out of the bag on what exactly the trio were up to.

Doritos presents an amazing virtual experience with Blink 182 and Big Boi. Purchase a special-edition bag of Doritos Late Night chips starting July 6th, this will also be the ticket into a sold out late night gig.

Check out this link to be part of this event!

Be sure to enter your email address to the right to get tip top updates on Blink hitting the stage!

If you're a major Blink fan, I suggest you jump on this right away!

Travis Barker Talks To MTV

blinkroom.pngHello Nimrods how are you doing today? Hope it's all good!

Travis Barker of Blink 182 speaks to MTV about the new single, "Up All Night", and describes it as 'Heavy.'  Barker also talks about how the band got inspired quickly for the upcoming project,

"we all got together and met up, almost immediately, we got inspired. So it went from just playing around together to being like, 'Let's lay down demos! And Tour!' "

He also told MTV news that it's all been an insane whirlwind, "And, to be honest, it was crazy. I was still recovering from all my surgeries, and was way out of it when we first got back in there. I was in no shape to be in the studio, and we were kinda held back a bit. We decided to just get used to playing with each other again."

Once they got the heavy laser packed tour all set up, it just started making sense from that point on, "We just started practicing for the tour, going through the old shit, playing the greatest hits-only we'd start experimenting on them a bit, working on different versions. So, it ended up that some of the old songs have new flavor to them, and then we also got around to making four demos, including one song that's pretty much complete."

Back to the new single, according to Travis, adoring Blink fans can expect to hear it during the summer tour. He says it's "a logical step" from their last release back in 2003, which set a darker, mature tone for the quirky trio. He hints at where the band may be headed, "when we do go in, its gonna be like that. You can't help but have everything on the table...all the stuff we've done-like +44 and Angels & Airwaves-since we last played and recorded, it will influence the new stuff," Barker also adds, "in the case of 'Up All Night,' it feels like it could've been on the last record, or right where the last one left off. It's kind of heavy, if you mixed Box Car Racer and Blink. It all makes sense. The pieces are all together."

There's no set date for their album release, but Barker told MTV that they'll begin recording after the tour is done. The drummer also said they'd be working on it while out on the road, "I'll have the studio out on tour with me, and I think Mark will too. I wanna work on it while we're on tour. But that's just me. I'm taking it day-by-day. Loving life. Working."

For those of you who couldn't catch the band on Jimmy Kimmel last night, here's a video of the guys playing live! Enjoy it everyone.

Summer Tours Rock On Despite Economy

concerts.pngHello peeps, how are you doing today?

Happy Memorial Day everyone, hope you're all having a good day!

Sales for concerts is booming despite the recession according to mysanantonio.com.

As with movies, tickets for tours are going strong, and concert promotion business are using what they call value ticketing. That means, that multi ticket sales are split into two groups, "four pack" or "family pack."

Editor-in-chief at Pollstar, Gary Bongiovanni says that spending some hard earned cash at shows isn't as bad as it may seem, "things are holding steady. That's a good thing. With the economic worries, splurging on concert tickets doesn't seem so bad."

Above all the other venues in the nation, the AT&T Center is the best place to indulge in some live music. Mostly because it has replaced the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. John Sparks from the Center offers his two cents, "it's been good across a wide spectrum of shows. You have to have a wide variety because people don't want to go to the same old thing all the time. They need that time out on the town."

Earlier in the month, country singer Kenny Chesney has attracted over 12,000 fans. Metallica is entirely sold out, and Disney boy band, the Jonas Brothers will soon follow suit. These two upcoming shows will attract at the very least, 16,000 music lovers.

Creed, Coldplay and Green Day are expected to have significant numbers as well. Who else will perform at the AT&T Center? The Vans Warped Tour will appear mid-summer, Tool is coming in July, and George Lopez will film a live comedy stint for HBO August 7th.

That's not all! A young female pop star is returning to the San Antonio AT&T Center this coming fall, and will attract 17,000 followers. Jamie Foxx is also said to perform!

For those of you who love ethnic music, Splashtown is launching their Grammy-studded Tejano music series in the summer. You can expect to see acts like Ram Herrera, Chente Barrera and Ruben Ramos all on the same night. The show is free with park admission which totals up to $15.99 for individuals that bring a Big Red soda bottle!

Concert promoter, Glenn Smith adds that package shows and festivals will offer the biggest bang for your buck, "what is in right now, and I'm seeing it across the country, 'value' is in."

Speaking of summer tours, in another article from ca.sys-con.com, Blink 182 have the top ticket of the week from TicketLiquidators.com. They are the the top provider for hard to find, low priced tickets.

It was announced today that it offers admission entry to the North American tour for the SoCal punk rockers. The article also states that the guys may also perform new songs from their upcoming sixth album expected to drop in 2010, let's not forget their fan favorite hits like, "Dammit".

Blink will hit the road on a 47 date tour with supporting acts such as: Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Chester French and Taking Back Sunday on select dates.

Managing Editor for TicketLiquidator, Alexandra Owens says this is going to be the tour of the year, "Blink 182 fans are ecstatic in anticipation of the reunion of this popular group after a few rocky episodes involving the bands members. We encourage the band's followers to comparison shop online and discover that TicketLiquidator.com offers low-priced Blink 182 tickets to the tour starting at thirty-three dollars a piece as well as affordable tickets to the other popular concert tour sin 2009."

According to comScore, TicketLiquidator is the second most used ticketing website. Not only do they sell passes for concerts, they also do theatrical and sporting events. Adding on to this, their inventory includes over 4 million tickets for more than 83,000 events.

That's right everyone! We're not going to let a little recession get in our way of experiencing awesome live shows, see on the road. Be there or be square!

Blink 182 Stay Together For Their Fans

blinklogo1.pngHowdy there homeslices, hope you're having a great weekend! We sure are!

As we said before, Blink 182 are on the cover of June's Alternative Press Magazine. Well, good news is we got all of the scans for you to enjoy!

The cover story can be found on page 110, and features a photograph of the guys interacting during a photo shoot. The caption at the bottom of the page also let's everyone know not to call it a "reunion."

On another page, bassist Mark Hoppus speaks about how he got into music. It all began when a friend loaned him a tape of the Cure's "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me." The first song he heard from that cassette was the tune, "Just Like Heaven."

He was a dedicated fan just after hearing that song, "I got way into the Cure from that moment. Their music became the soundtrack to my life, and I worked my way backward, buying all their previous albums, rare imports, posters, books, 12-inch singles (does anyone remember these?) and everything else I could get my hands on."

Hoppus also admits he started to dress like singer, Robert Smith. He is shown on the scan sporting messy hair, eyeliner, white face powder and sloppy lipstick. Yes, he'd even go dressed this flamboyantly to his high school classes. Aside from mimicking his idols, they're what inspired him to take up the bass guitar. Sitting alone in his room, he'd play along to the songs blasting from his stereo.

Now in present time, the Blink trio even featured Smith on a song called, "All Of This" for their 2003 untitled album. "I never thought for a second it would actually happen. We called some people, and to our surprise, he wanted to be a part of it," Mark says, "It ended up being one of the best songs on the album. Months later, we were asked to perform a cover of 'A Letter To Elise' for MTV Icon: The Cure in 2004. They were super cool, just like you hope your heroes will be when you see them in real life."

Off the subject of Mark, this scan here features a photo of Tom Delonge, Blink's guitarist. The caption states that these guys may be the modern punk version of the Beatles. After four years, Blink is back to reclaim their throne. All they need to really work on is their friendship!

Now on page 112, the real story begins! AP sits down with the band in their North Hollywood studio co-owned by Mark Hoppus, and drummer Travis Barker.

Discussing the return of the band, Hoppus says, "we honestly think of it as a continuation, not a reunion. Cause 'reunion' just has such a weird vibe to it, and that's not how we feel about what we're doing, you know? It is a continuation. We definitely had a band meltdown and took some time to figure things out and come back together in a positive way."

In February 2005, after 13 years of being together as a band, they decided to dismantle. Due to constant fighting, distrust and endless touring and promotion, it took a toll on the Southern Californians.

A few months later, Delonge started his band, Angels and Airwaves, and Hoppus hooked up with Barker to form, Plus 44. You may be surprised to know that there wasn't any tension between the two new bands. Or was there? "it was interesting to us to find out how bummed out Travis and Mark were about Tom splitting off," Shawn Harris from the Matches tells the magazine. His band opened for Plus 44 a year after recording three songs with Mark in 2006.

Harris also adds, "they were really hurt at the time, and I think a lot of that went into the Plus 44 album. There might've been a tablespoon of vengeance in Plus 44."

Plus 44 released their first hit, "No, It Isn't" on Delonge's birthday which is December 13. Blink's guitarist shot back some choice words for Hoppus, "I wouldn't want to be Mark and Travis when this record comes out." He claims he wasn't quoted correctly and "hyped up on pills" at the time when AVA began their official piece of press.

Hoppus explains that his best friend tearing away from Blink didn't feel right to him, "Tom cutting everything off and quitting the band through our manger was just really, really hard to swallow, personally, just because we'd been friends fo so long. That really didn't sit right with me for a long time."

What does he think of Angels and Airwaves? Pretty similar to how he took the break-up, "I think, in all honesty, that the Angels and Airwaves stuff lacked something. As creative and ambitious as Tom is, I feel like, as a fan of both our songwriting styles, Angels and Airwaves lacked what Travis and I bring to the table. And I feel like, in a lot ways, Plus 44 lacked what Tom would bring to the table."

Mark did in fact listen to what Tom cooked up with AVA, Travis has yet to hear a single note, "I've heard the singles, but I wasn't listening to that type of music, so it wasn't really run past me."

This bass player was also thinking about calling Tom out of the blue and jamming on a song, "I was talking to my label: They wanted me to do a solo record. I was getting ready to do that and getting songs and everything together. I wanted to call up Tom and invite him to play guitar on one of the tracks, and just say, 'Dude, let's do like Beverly Hills, 90210 and squash it. I'm going to do this record. I want you to come and play guitar on it."

He never got around to calling Delonge. On September 19, 2008 Barker was in a tragic plane crash killing four out of six passengers. The only survivors were Barker and Adam Goldstein, better known as "DJ AM." Both musicians had second and third-degree burns. Barker had been hospitalized for about a month at a burn center in Georgia.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, but there are theories that state there was a blowout in one of the tires. Barker can't comment on the events because of a pending lawsuit against the jet's owners. He got through this adversity with "positive thinking" and doesn't dwell on it, "I was never sitting around going, 'Yo, I want Blink 182 to get back together.' You have to be friends in order to be  a band together, and at that point we weren't friends. I was so content with everything I was doing during the hiatus."

During the interview, Barker points at the outdoor patio where Hoppus brought up Blink reuniting again, "I was just kind of cruising at that point. I was still really, really, really recovering, and it was just cool to talk to my friends again." He also replied to being asked if he'd have any problems with Mark and Tom uniting without him, "if it was a decision they wanted to do, I would totally do that. If they felt like touring and I didn't feel like touring, or they wanted someone else, of course."

He also goes on to say, "we'll see how it is. If the reunion is the funnest thing in the world, then I'll continue doing it." What if it's not fun? "I never do anything that's not fun."

Mark expressed his excitement for the tour, "we're doing something for our upcoming tour that no band have ever been able to do before. When you buy a ticket, $20 will get you a seat. Twenty Dollars. No ticketing charge, no parking charge, no service fees, nothing. Like, a $20 bill will get you into the Blink show."

He also tells AP about meeting with set designers, "we met with the production designer the other day who did Kanye Wests's tour, Daft Punk's tour and has worked with Nine Inch Nails. We really want to walk out on stage and blow people's minds."

Hoppus quickly shoots down the idea of not doing an album due to the lack of energy from being on the road, "I don' think so-I mean, I don't feel like that now, but talk to me in six months. I really feel like during the tour, we're going to be doing soundchecks and playing instruments backstage and shooting ideas off of one another and we're going to come out of the tour on the other side, ready to get back to the studio and record the next album."

He makes it a point that the album will be out, but there isn't an approximate date or time, "I don't feel like there is a time schedule on a new album. If it takes us a year to write the next record, it will take a year to write the next record. I don't feel pressure to have it out by any certain time. We just want it to be great, no matter what it is or how long it takes us."

With bands like Fall Out Boy and All-American Rejects inching closer to the punk rock royalty throne, how does Blink stay afloat considering their last disc went platinum, but didn't sell as much as 1999's Enema Of The State?

"I definitely want to push where the last album went and go further with that. That is kind of why we decided to do the tour first then record the record, because I feel like people want to go out and see the Blink that they remember. They want to hear 'The Rock Show.' They want to hear 'Stay Together For The Kids.' They want to hear songs that they know."

He continues, "Relevancy, I think is in our own minds, if we record this album and people like it, then that's a success. If it sells 100,000 copies, that's fine. If a young band come up and blow us away, they've earned it. We've got to stay on our toes, and we've got to get the chops out for this tour. We've got to get out there and show everybody what we're all about. It's on us."

The next day, the SoCal punk trio meet up for their photo shoot with AP Mag. Tom takes time out of the shoot to explain a joke about "stimulus package", he's been working pretty hard at it too. Mark jumps in and decides to give his band mate a hard time, "Dude, what happened to your car? It's covered in dents!" He later admits he's just kidding and walks away.

While the guys may seem to be complete goofs, they still have their responsibilities to be serious about. Tom is still serious about working with Angels and Airwaves, they're actually working on their third album, as well as a AVA movie to be released digitally on Christmas Day totally free, "we're going to try and really chance the way the industry works."

He makes it a point that Blink is what's really on his mind, "at any given moment, whatever I am doing is the top priority of that minute. Right now, getting ready for the tour with Blink is the top priority. I have to make sure it's the best it can be. I want to be able to experience art at that level again. It's a lot of fun to communicate on that large of a stage. We were a great band. I think the three of us together sort of have that spark."

In our last and final scan, it states that the album to coming out in 2010 is still a mystery to the guys. Filling the shoes of the late Jerry Finn, who produced the majority of Blink's records, is going to be a tough one, "what he brought to music is something that can't even be described, and it's awful to not hae him here. I still feel like he's here with us now, because the way we approach recording and everything is the way that he taught us. I wish that he were here to be a part of this."

The guys may have done their fair share of producing albums, but they insist on never showing off their skills on this new album, "we've had talks about that. Do we want to get a producer? If we got a producer, who would it be? Do we want to produce this ourselves? We're still fairly early on in the process, so I think we just need our space to not only find ourselves musically, but to get back into that headspace as a band where we actually communicate with one another and really get to that point where we can say, 'that absolutely sucks.'

I mean, we never say that, but, you know, everyone's still a litle bit polite right now, and we need to get past that politeness and get to the point where we can be like, 'hey, I really don't like that' ; get to that point where you're arguing about something but it doesn't feel like the band are going to fall apart."

So far, Blink 182 have a new song in the works, "The Night The Moon Was Gone". Mark himself calls it, "The Day THe Sun Said Suck It." Both Delonge and Hoppus have writing credit on it, and both offer vocals as well. The sound can be described as post-hardcore, and according to Tom, sounds like it was left off the last album, "lt sounds like it was the lost track of the untitled record. Lyrically, it's all about how everybody has the same wants, fears and desires. No matter who you are, no matter what vantage point. At the end of the day, everyone just wants to get by."

Blink 182 will embark on a three-month tour starting in July, and ending in October. It will feature opening acts like: Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Chester French, Panic at the Disco, All-American Rejects and more.

Will their friendship ever heal and go back to normal? Delonge jokes, "we all agree on one thing, and that's the Descendants." It's possible the band may never really be best friends ever again, but as far as career and success, they see eye to eye.

"I don't think any of us wanted to tip-toe back into Blink. We wanna take the biggest shot that we possibly can. We don't have any endgame. We do this because we love it, and because it's fun for us," Hoppus says.

Delonge ends the article with this quote, "there's only three of us, and that's all it takes. When we get together, all we need are these three instruments. A power trio is a hard thing to be, but when you're good at it, you can be unstoppable."

We fully agree!

blinklive2.pngHello everybody, how's it going with ya'll so far? Hope it's all good!

MTV.com posted some news concerning Blink 182 and their upcoming reunion tour, and since being away for so long, it's nice they still have their sense of humor.

The guys made their first radio appearance May 18th on KROQ's Kevin & Bean's show. The punk rockers talked about getting back together, the summer tour and jokes made between Mark and Tom during their surprise show in Los Angeles.

Guitarist Tom Delonge joked about his other side band, Angels & Airwaves, "I need to apologize. For the past few years I've been doing this serious stuff. And then the first song we came out and play, and I come right out and ask people if they masturbate to the 'Lord of the Rings' ...it was crazy."

Looks like things are back to normal with the band, hysterical sense of humor and all. Delonge and his bandmate, Mark Hoppus killed some rumors that Delonge looked kind of uncomfortable during Grammy night.

Hoppus said, "let me address this...here's what happened. We show up at the Grammys, Travis and I were there for an hour before we're supposed to go on...they sent Tom a car for him that never showed up. So, he's not there, and literally the lady was like, 'If you don't have a full band in 30 seconds, we're cutting you from the show.' And, like, Tom walks in, they send us to a holding area and then it's like, 'GO!' "

Delonge goes on to joke, "I think people thought we were like the crew dudes. People were confused."

Moving on to tour! Big news of the year, the guys will embark on a three month tour starting July 24th and ending in October. Tom has promised fans the show will include lasers, and Mark has sworn to an amazing light show. During the KROQ show, the band took caller suggestions to give their tour a name! However, there was only one winner, "One-Way Ticket to Boneville."

Our beloved bassist laughs, "we've had some good names in the past...'Poo-Poo Pee-Pee,' 'Race Around Uranus,' that one tour where we had the F-word written in flames. But I kind of like 'One-Way Ticket to Boneville.' I don't know if anything's going to top that."

In more Blink news, they'll be on the cover of the July 2009 issue of Alternative Press Magazine. On the cover, they're quoted as saying, "we wanna take the biggest shot that we possibly can." They want to assure everyone not to call this a reunion! It'll be in newsstands soon, should be good!

As far as album news goes, the guys are busy in the studio recording their follow up to the 2003 self-titled record. Don't expect to hear more than one new song on the tour though. Hoppus says for now, it's all about the hits, "I think that people want to hear the old stuff right now. I think that people want to relive the old times, and the people who haven't seen Blink yet want to see the songs they've been listening to the past few years. We'll throw in some new stuff, but this is about reforming as a band and playing the songs that we grew  up playing."

It is still unknown whether or not the Blink men will debut their official single before the tour starts later this year in Las Vegas. Keep your fingers crossed!

They're still signed to their label, Interscope, "Interscope will be putting out our next record, but I don't know if hte song will be coming out as a release- a for-sale version for the tour or not, or if we'll just debut it for the tour and let it sit it in...badly-played live editions," according to Mark.
