Awesome Films For 2010!
The year isn't even over yet, and already new movie previews for 2010 are popping up all over the place. Breaking out of her Twilight shell, Kirsten Stewart will be taking on the role of Joan Jett in "The Runaways" alongside "New Moon" fellow cast member Dakota Fanning who will play alongside Stewart as Jett's bandmate and girlfriend.
Stewart is excited and grateful that she is able to portray the 70's punk rocker's life. "It's the coolest opportunity I've ever been given. The reason rock 'n' roll is the way it is now and the reason girls are allowed to be not just outspoken but sexually aggressive is because The Runaways did it first."
On a personal level, Stewart says she's gotten to know Jett better and even considers her as one of her friends. "I hadn't heard of the band before I started production on The Runaways. Everybody knows Joan Jett but nobody really remembers how she got her start. Now I feel she's become my friend. This was the most important time of her life and I really hope I did it right, but it's, like, pretty daunting. It's scary."
The Runaways was written and directed by Floria Sigismondi and is also based on Neon Angles, who was written by Cherry Currie, the group's singer. There still is no specific date as to when the movie will appear in theaters, so keep an eye out for it!
For you hardcore Tim Burton fans, be sure to catch Disneys' remake of Alice in Wonderland on March 5th, 2010 starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Alice finds herself in hilarious and wacky situations after she stumbles down a rabbit hole and encounters a Cheshire Cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar and a violent queen in this imaginary land. Also starring in the flick are Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover and Mia Wasikowska, this should be awesome!
Delving into the dark realm of horror movies, Nightmare On Elm Street returns with a reboot to this 1984 thriller series revolving around psychopath Freddy Krueger who haunts his victims in their dreams. The film is produced by Michael Bay and directed by Samuel Bayer, who has previously worked on videos for Green Day's, "American Idiot" and Nirvana. Catch this psychological thriller in theaters on April 30th, 2010.

I want to see The Runaways and Alice in Wonderland... NOES more than likely will suck because of Michael Bay... Why the hell does he get to keep on making movies?
