It's been a long time coming, but the seemingly impossible has happened and it's happening in a BIG way! You may have already heard that legendary rockers Pink Floyd are set to release an album "The Endless River" this coming October... oh yes, you heard right!
Polly Samson, co-lyricist and wife of David Gilmour, broke this juicy bit of info over Twitter by posting, “Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called The Endless River. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright’s swansong and very beautiful.”
Adding onto Samson's previous announcement backing vocalist Druga McBroom-Hudson says these new songs began as a batch of ambient instrumentals called the Big Stiff recorded around the same time as "The Division Bell", and they have since been completed by Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason.
Recently McBroom-Hudson posted a pic on Facebook of a recording session and she captioned it as: “Remember this photo? It wasn’t what you THOUGHT it was… YES. THERE IS A NEW PINK FLOYD ALBUM COMING OUT. AND I’M ON IT. And there was much rejoicing.”
A 20th anniversary of "Division Bell" is now out in various formats, including: "Deluxe Box version which includes the album on two LPs, a Blu-Ray featuring 5.1 and HD audio mixes of the album and a new video for the song “Marooned”, three vinyl singles and a copy of the album on CD as well."
