GreenD2010Jann Wenner, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Chief and Co-founder of Rolling Stone Magazine, is considering lowering the inductee eligibility requirements to 20 years due to the lack of artists able to fit the current criteria according to Showbiz411.

This is great news as Green Day could very well be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with Guns N' Roses. Both bands may become eligible earlier than anticipated if organizers decide to bend the rules a bit. The current rules are that the nominees can only be considered 25 years after the release of their debut record.

This means big news for acts like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Public Enemy and Kid Rock. The downside is it wont sit well with those still waiting to be inducted into the Hall such as: Kiss, Deep Purple, Yes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and King Crimson, who haven't even received a nomination.

Hall of Fame aside, our beloved Tre Cool came in at number nine on The Ten Funniest Dudes in Rock according to Chartattack.com. The drummer is described as "a really weird dude" and was even compared to Andy Kaufman as which comedian he'd be most like. Not bad!

Grabbing the number one spot was Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age, paired up with George Carlin as who he represents the best. Labeled as "the guy everyone wants to hang out with", Homme comes across as "a natural" when it comes to comedy.

Last but not least, Mike Dirnt's restaurant, "Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe", will be featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives" 10pm EST today January 25th on Food Network. It's all part of Fieri's "Triple D Tailgatin' special" where he'll hit up three local food joints following a Raiders home game. In case you Nimrods miss it, the show will also air January 26th at 1am and February 5th at 9pm.

Muse010Recently we told you about how super group, Muse is working on the soundtrack to "Clash of The Titans". Well, turns out it wasn't so!

Director, Louis Leterrier revealed to MTV that he wasn't exactly talking about the band themselves but more along the lines of just front-man Matt Bellamy doing it solo.

“It was not Muse ever. It was Matt Bellamy. I love Muse, I’m the biggest Muse fan ever, but I wanted something a little different. Matt wrote a lot of stuff, but he started his tour. So not so long ago, he called me and he was like ‘Louis, I’m so sorry. I have to be respectful to my audience and professional and I have to stop on Clash.’”

Leterrier had intended to for the rocker to work with composer Craig Armstrong on a half hour of music for the March 26th film release. However, instead Neil Davidge from Massive Attack will now be taking on the reigns for the movie. “Craig Armstrong is still doing the score and I called my friend Neil Davidge from Massive Attack to replace Matt for the areas that Matt was doing. So it’ll be Craig Armstrong and Massive Attack, which is pretty exciting.”

Despite the letdown, Leterrier still considers himself a huge fan of Matt's work and is interested in working together sometime down the road. “On my computer I’ve got great Matt Bellamy stuff, It’s like a rain check, like let’s do something later.”

Speaking of these guys, the trio's new video for "Resistance" premiered on all music networks yesterday January 14th and is part of Muse's latest album bearing the same name. The vid was directed by Wayne Isham and allows everyone to take a gander at the band's energetic live shows. "Resistance" has hit number three on the Billboard Hot 200 since its September 2009 release.

In case you missed the premiere, here's the video below!

horror2010Ryan Rotten from shocktillyoudrop.com has compiled a list of the top ten anticipated horror movies for the new year. The list includes everything from classics such as "Nightmare On Elm Street's" Freddy Krueger as well as some horror movie newcomers.

Tying in on the number ten spot, "Season of the Witch"  which opens nationwide on March 19th and "Black Death" opening in the UK on February 26th are somewhat different but are linked together by supernatural happenings a plague being the driving force of the storyline.

Starring Nicholas Cage in "Seasons", a knight sets out to capture the witch responsible for the plague and deliver her to a secluded location and destroy her powers. Partner in crime, Ron Pearlman, joins Cage on his epic adventure to save the population.

On the contrary, "Black Death" centers around actor, Sean Bean who plays a monk that enters a village fluttered with rumors of a necromancer bringing the deceased townspeople to life again.

At number nine comes"Buried" which will premiere at the Sundance film festival. This thriller involves Ryan Reynolds as a contractor who is taken and buried alive in a coffin. Directed by Rodrigo Cort, who has worked in shorts and features, he will be making his American debut.

Also premiering at Sundance number "The Violent Kind", takes place at number eight. "The Butcher Bros." are back again working with the producers behind the original "Halloween" movies bring you this biker horror flick. Tiffany Shepis portrays the main character which is simply known as Michelle while other characters have more creative names like Murderball, Q and Pussywagon.

Joining the 3D bandwagon is number seven"Piranha 3D", opening on April 16. French director, Alex Aja who worked on "High Tension" and "The Hills Have Eyes'", has promised this film to be a "rollercoaster ride". This remake is basically a "1978 'Jaws' knock off" about a government-generated evil fish who takes the lives of swimmers.

Coming in at number six is this spring's "My Soul to Take", which was formerly known as "25/8" but was renamed after a line in the film using the term was cut during post-production.

Master of horror, Wes Craven directs his latest project since 2005's "Red Eye"  and is the first screenplay he's written since "New Nightmare" in 1994. It's a thrilling tale about a serial killer stalking a small town and promises to return and kill seven young children who are born the evening he dies.

Mid-way through the list comes "The Ward" at number five from horror film veteran, John Carpenter. You may remember him from "Ghost of Mars", "Cigarette Burns" and "Pro-Life". This particular film is a classic ghost story taking place in the 1960's in which Amber Heard, is committed into a psych ward.

At number four and opening February 19th, Martin Scorsese makes an adaptation of the Denis Lehane novel in "Shutter Island". Hollywood actors, Leonardo Dicaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley star in this creeper.

At number three directed by Nimrod Antal and produced by Robert Rodriguez, comes "Predators". It includes actors: Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Laurence Fishburne, Walton Goggins and Alice Braga.

Taking place in the heart of 'Predator'-world, this is the sequel to the first 1987 flick. So you know what that means? Viewers get new everything: "new weapons, new bad-ass characters and various lethal critters that are indigenous to the Predator world." The studio put it on the back-burner because the budget for the film was too high in price.

At close second comes "Frozen" opening up February 5th. Three young adults are deserted on a ski lift that's been closed for over a week. This film was submitted by Adam Green at the Sundance festival and even had fans of the movie using their own strategies on forums on how to escape the situation. Even TV show "' Mythbusters' found no proper way out of a stuck ski lift without some major damage being inflicted to one's body. "

At number one, Rounding out the top 10 is none other than, "A Nightmare On Elm Street" directed by Samuel Bayer and produced by Michael Bay. As we mentioned before this movie will open on April 30th, this is a reboot of the NOES saga. Wes Craven, Bob Shaye and Robert Englund have nothing to do with the film this time around. Instead, you can welcome Jackie Earle Haley as the new Freddy!

You can read the whole article, as well as an in-depth look at all of the movies mention by Ryan Rotten on ShockTillYouDrop.com!

KC2009Back in November we told you that Kelly Clarkson announced working on her follow up album to 2009's, "All I Ever Wanted". Now she's out to prove that she isn't just a talented pop star, but that she can also rock out! Earlier this month she told Atlanta radio station Q100 what's in store for the next era of her music.

"We're already working on it but it's probably not going to hit until, like, the fourth quarter of next year — around Christmas next year. There's still some like singer/songwriter stuff, but there's ... I don't know. It's almost like Garbage-meets-pop-meets-Muse. It's a little different."

Clarkson may be interested in a totally different genre, but in the end it could very well change all together. "I don't know how it's going to end up. Who knows? It always ends up being something completely different."

Leaks of the new material all seem to come from a You Tuber during a sound check or pre-show during her recent North American tour. Some of these include covers from Taylor Swift, U2, Elvis Presley, Rolling Stones as well as her own work. Is Kelly ready to shed her American Idol skin and become a full out rocker chick?  We will definitely keep you informed!

Before we go, check out a new song below called "Far From Home"!
