halestorm2012On April 10th Halestorm will release their much anitcipated follow up to 2009's self-titled album "The strange Case Of..." with the first new single, "Love Bites (So Do I)", now playing on rock radio stations nationwide.

The new track and three other tunes from the new record is featured on the group's new EP, "Hello, It's Mz. Hyde", which is available through any digital retailer.

Named among Revolver Magazine's "Most Anticipated Albums of the Year", the Penn state hard rocking four-piece once again worked with producer Howard Benson as they did previously.  Revolver also included a few kind words on behalf of Lzzy's rock and roll persona, "Led by one of our favorite rocker babes, singer-guitarist Lzzy Hale, (Halestorm) promise a more personal album for their follow-up. But don't expect them to get all sappy on us. There should still be more than enough of the band's now signature raucous attitude and righteous riffs for any headbanger to get off."

Alongside a new album the group will also be hitting major US cities with Godsmack and Stained on April 13th beginning at John Paul Jone's Arena in Augusta, Georgia and continuing throughout the middle of May until the 18th in Flint, Michigan. All ticketing information is available on Halestorm's official website.

Halestorm also released their first ever CD/DVD combo pack named "Live in Philly 2010" featuring fan favorite tunes such as- "It's Not  You", "Familiar Taste of Poison" and "I Get Off".

We were fortunate to see Halestorm with Seether in 2006 during the "Snocore Tour" at the House of Blues, as well as lucky to have met them. If you haven't had the opportunatey to see them live make it a point to catch these guys this year, it is quite an experience!!

James Vegas, the vocalist for Modern Day Escape, spoke to Noisecreep just as their tour with Murderdolls and Aidan came to a close. He discussed the plans for their upcoming album, "Under the Gun", and how awesome their fans have been while on the road.

"It's been fucking awesome! The kids that have been coming out have been going nuts and killing it every night. They make it worth waking up every day. This tour has been so much fun in itself, not to mention the fact that we were out with two amazing bands who really know how to own the stage, and their fans have welcomed us with open arms."

Fans are probably wondering just how awesome this new chapter in the band's career will unfold when the new album arrives, how good will the record be? "Probably the greatest record to come out since Michael Jackson's 'Thriller.' But seriously. This record is just a kick ass, awesome, rock and roll album. Fit for the last year before we all explode in 2012!" He said, confidently.

This will be Modern Day Escape's follow up to 2009's "House of Rats" just after releasing their self-titled EP; fame has really rocked their world with so many changes chasing behind. "Things are different due to the change in the lineup. The fact that we have new members now --Mark Burn and Sandra Alva-- and they are both very big fans of classic rock like Marti, Shep and I. That being said, we wanted to bring a more rock and roll feel to this record and smash it into our brand of metal. I think we did a good job of making 'Metal & Roll' or 'Mock & Retal.'"

With all the excitement surrounding the new album due out March 27th, what about a new tour? Vegas said you can, "bet your sweet ass".

garbage2012Garbage announced they'll self-release their follw up comeback album after 2005's "Bleed Like Me" via their very own record label-Stunvolume.

As posted on the band's Facebook page, they've had enough with being told what to do with their music. "We have had our fill of greedy corporate interest. We don't like how they do business. This time we are going to do it our way... Our aim is to put out music that is pure of heart," Garbage also added on, "Our intention is to make a great record that we have written, recorded and produced as a band. We intend to tell the truth. We are one. Even though it's hard."

The Wisconsin four additionally took to their Twitter (@Garbage) to announce more upcoming plans for the upcoming album. "All extra tracks for the deluxe album package off to mastering now. 16 new songs for your listening pleasure coming soon. This is beyond exciting for us. Hope you feel the same way too."

Vocalist Shirley Manson explains why she personally decided to briefly quit the music industry as well. "I was sickened by my record company's approach, which was, to me, essentially an uncreative process."

There still isn't any official word as to when the album will hit stores or when the next tour will be. Stay tuned!

Evanescence And Friends Rock The House Of Blues

hobev2012Evanescence is a band we've long awaited to see in concert for years now. This sold-out magical night at Orlando's House of Blues in Downtown Disney was filled to the brim with bright lights and awesome music for cheerful fans to sing along to.

Of course, the evening would not have been complete without EV's posse bringing some of their own talented friends along for the ride to serenade the crowd with. We were even fortunate enough to meet both opening acts after the whole show at either of their respective merch tables when their sets finished for pictures and autographs.

Kicking things off was British-American group, Electric Touch (@ElectricTouch) but first, A bit of background about this electrifying group!

After signing to Texas label Justice Records, these guys have not only rocked it out on this tour, but have also done other festivals such as Coachella, SXSW, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits.

Filled with Punk Rock Overtones worthy of bands the like of The Ramones and The Clash, Electric Touch's set seemed oddly familiar, even to those of us who had never heard them before. This was thanks to the group playing a fantastic Ramones cover of "Blitzkrieg Bop" getting the whole venue pumping and singing along before breaking into their own signature material.

Next up is our Twitter following friends Rival Sons (@RivalSons) who hail from the land of Los Angeles, California. The soaring vocals of lead vocalist Jay Buchanan brought us back to the classic rock days of the 60's and 70's with amazing vocals to rival legends such as Jim Morrison, and Steven Tyler. Even Scott Holiday's amazing guitar shredding completely won us over.

Forming in 2008 these guys have released a self-titled EP, two full-length albums- "Before the Fire", "Pressure & Time", and opened for a major rock legend Alice Cooper.

It would be pretty obvious to everyone that these bands are definitely going places and will play a major part in the future of rock!

Saving the best for last but certainly not least, main headliner Evanescence launched their set with the current single, "What You Want", sending the crowd into a fist pumping frenzy that could literally be felt all around the venue.

The quintet delve into playing a little bit of everything in their repertoire including "Fallen" and "The Open Door". One of the major highlights of the evening happened during the song "Your Star" when a shiny disco ball playfully illuminated the HOB alongside a plethora of strobe lights made that special moment seem like a dream to diehard fans.

Evanescence rocked out to a good handful of newer tunes from last October's self-titled release including "Never Go Back" and one of my personal favorite, "Made of Stone".

Afterwards we were lucky to also get two records autographed and a picture from one of the band's guitarist, Terry Balsamo.

The official set-list for Evanescence is listed below:

  • "What You Want"
  • "Going Under"
  • "The Other Side"
  • "Weight of the world"
  • "The Change"
  • "My Last Breath"
  • "Made of Stone"
  • "Lost in Paradise"
  • "Lithium"
  • "Erase This"
  • "Sick"
  • "Call Me When You're Sober"
  • "Imaginary"
  • "Bring Me To Life"
  • Encore:
  • "Never Go Back"
  • "Swimming Home"
  • "Your Star"
  • "My Immortal"

From all of us at Nimrod Street we'd like to shout-out a big THANK YOU to all the bands who rocked our socks off, we can't wait to do it again!!

For more information on either Electric Touch or Rival Sons check out their official websites and tell them we sent you!!

alktrio2012Frontman to Alkaline Trio revealed that he's formed a new side band with members of AFI and My Chemical Romance. They've already recorded their debut album ,"Babylon", and will be released later this year.

They'll be known as Matt Skiba And The Sekrets, featuring AFI's Hunter Burgan on bass, and touring drummer for My Chem Jarrod Alexander who joined last September after Michael Pedicone was fired.

Skiba himself speaks about creating the band and how different it is working on his own projects. "Creating a record on my own and deciding who plays and how the songs were structured, it was fun to do. I love working with my band-mates in Alkaline Trio, but to make a rock record that was just mine was something that I wanted to do."

Speaking of Alkaline Trio, they'll be making up for a postponed tour from back in November 2011 due to Skiba's foot injury. They'll be rocking out the UK sometime this May!!

Slash Plans For Second Album

slash2012Slash and his backing band will return to the studio to complete his second upcoming album, which according to The Pulse Of Radio, the guitar extraordinaire is aiming towards a more "raw" sound!

"We're just going for the one take that sounds good, so my solos are more raw, probably sloppier in a way, because they're very spontaneous to the point where it's in the heat of the moment. Everything is being played live with the music tracks: the solos, everything. We're trying not to overdub extra bits. So if there's a solo, I'm playing on one side, Myles [Kennedy]'s rhythm track is on the other."

This record will feature a multitude of guest musicians as well as session players unlike his 2010 debut. He'll be recording with his touring band including singer/guitarist for Alter Bridge-Myles Kennedy.

Slash also told 'Pulse' that he's in a better place while recording in a band this time around despite his past with Guns N' Roses.

"I definitely have found a certain freedom to be able to feel comfortable expressing myself with the guys that I'm working with, and just being able to focus on what it is that I like to focus on, and not having a lot of outside distraction and internal distraction and confusion. So yeah, this has been the most fun that I've had since the earliest GUNS days."

Current titles for his sophomore album are "Bad Rain", "Halo", "Standing In The Sun", and "Far And Away"; fans can expect new music sometime in April!

Slash and Guns N' Roses are confirmed to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14th!!

paranormal4With a new year comes new surprises, or in this case more movies. The popular franchise "Paranormal Activity" has spawned a fourth installment set to hit theaters sometime around Halloween.

This will be the follow up to last fall's Paranormal 3 which became the Best Horror Movie Opening Ever raking in $54 million according to Box Office Mojo!

This announcement was made alongside Paramount achieving "highest total combined by any studio in 2011, making a record of $5.17 billion worldwide."

“This achievement reflects the combined efforts of our entire team across the globe and the careful process by which we select the projects and partners we believe in,” says Chairman & CEO Brad Grey. “We produce pictures that aspire to entertain audiences around the world, while at the same time we have sought to find innovative ways to reach movie-goers in this changing entertainment environment.”

After all the holiday festivities who's not hungry for some more horror?
